Founded in 2010
The idea, concept and company was founded by Chad Lancaster and Davis Mersereau in Los Angeles, CA. The mission was to create a brand that would better connect people with art and to stay true to three guiding principles: (1) the artist comes first, (2) it's all about the work and (3) think and create.
Social Network and Marketplace in 2011
With a silent partnership with a New York digital agency, we launched a progressive social network and marketplace for fine artists and collectors. With a roster of over 700 artists from around the world, Galleray.com exhibited more than 5,000 works - one of the largest online collections of fine art at that time.
G-Prints in 2012
In an effort to support our artists and to offer affordable fine art prints to our followers, we launched G-Prints. Partnering with two of New York City's most renowned gallery framemakers and printmakers, we didn't cut any corners when it came to quality. For $350, you received one of your favorite Galleray works printed on Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Paper using archival pigment inks, framed in a hand-built 20 x 20" white hard maple wood frame with a plexiglass window...at your doorstep.
Pop-Up Gallery Opens in 2013
In keeping with our internal motto that "you can't replace the offline experience", we were proud to host our first offline exhibition, a pop-up gallery in New York's esteemed Lower East Side gallery district, just South of the New Museum on Bowery. 'P.O.P. In Progress' was a 10-day art event, exhibiting over 200 works from 60+ international Galleray artists, to an audience of over 1,000 people.
Social Media Re-Launch in 2014
Continuing our mission to better connect people with art, we re-focused our social media efforts with the launch of our Google+ page, where we have quickly passed over 1.5MM followers and counting!
